Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at katie@proactivepestandweed.com.au if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Preparation is depending on the treatment you get done.

Here is a list of things that we recommend for most treatments -

  • Make sure vehicles are removed from any driveways or access points. This makes it easier for our technicians to get full access with our vehicles and be able to do our job effectively
  • Pick up any loose items from interior so we can treat all possible areas inside
  • Take any clothes off the line if getting an exterior treatment
  • Close any windows and exterior doors if getting an exterior treatment
  • remove any dogs from the yards
  • unlock any gates that may prevent us from getting access around the property
  • cover any fish tanks with waterproof material such as a tarp
  • Tell our technicians of any pest concerns you may have

Yes, we use safe and environmentally-friendly pest control methods that are non-toxic for children and pets.

We recommend scheduling pest control services at least once every 6 months to prevent pest infestations and ensure long-term protection.

Pest Management is about controlling pest infestations. This means that you most more than likely will see some pest activity from time to time. A pest technician can only manage the numbers of pests not completely eradicate them as pests can come in from other areas. Once a pest comes in contact with the chemical applied, they should eventually die.

Alot of other factors come into play when dealing with pests such as

  • Environment
  • Food sources
  • Harboring areas

This is why we recommend regular pest treatments to reduce the chances of infestation and for our clients to apply non chemical methods to reduces the pest population.

Here are some great tips on keeping pest numbers down

  • Keeping your food preparation areas clean and put food sources in sealable containers
  • Block any cracks and crevasses that may be able to harbor pest activity
  • Remove debris from exterior of home
  • take your garbage out regularly
  • vacuum regularly

Most more than likely you will see an increase in pest activity for a few weeks after the treatment as the treated pests will have limited hiding spots so will come out into the open to die.

Due to our technicians going from property to property we can not give an exact time of arrival. We do our best to get to you within the time allocated but this can be difficult due to traffic, jobs running longer than expected, equipment trouble and other factors that can be out of our control.

We do understand that this can be inconvenient at times but we do our best to get to you as soon as we can,

Being a service that provides outside treatments the weather can come into play on how effective the treatment can be.

We usually say to our clients that once your technician arrives he can assess the weather and advise if it would be wise to carry out the treatment.

If the rain is constant all day we do ask our clients if they could contact us to let us know around 1 hour before the treatment is going to be carried out.
